A Daily Net Billing Snapshot Trusted by the C-Level

In this dashboard, I was tasked to replicate how Finance performs their end-of-month billing reconciliation. But instead of a monthly Excel-based process, the goal was to deliver a daily indicative net view that C-level stakeholders could rely on to monitor business performance in near real-time. 

The challenge lay in transforming raw gross data into accurate net calculations. I had to manually translate Finance’s complex formulas—previously applied in Excel—into automated logic using BigQuery SQL. This included deductions, returns, platform commissions, and conditional adjustments, all structured into a reliable data model.

These minor gaps are expected, as Finance’s final figures incorporate partner feedback post-billing and manual adjustments—such as last-minute discounts or corrections—that aren’t immediately reflected in the data sources I use. Once those updates are received or made visible in the system, I revise the dashboard to reflect the latest adjustments, ensuring alignment with Finance’s final reconciliation.
